We had such a great time, and we can definitely say that we’ve learned more at “The Surf Academy”and from Pedro, than ever before. An amazing experience with The Surf Academy. I spent 4 days with them and honestly, I already want to come back! From the very beginning, the whole team was incredibly friendly, attentive and dedicated. They genuinely care about your experience and are always there to help. The lessons are very well structured and adapted to all levels of experience, whether you are a complete beginner or already have some surfing experience. The groups are small, which allows for much closer and more personalized feedback, always in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The equipment is also excellent, with good-quality surfboards and wetsuits, all in perfect condition. Everything is very well organized and taken care of. I really enjoyed every single day and couldn’t recommend The Surf Academy more. I would come back without hesitation and recommend them with my eyes closed. My family and I had an amazing time learning how to surf with The Surf Academy at Praia da Areia Branca. Pedro and Duarte were welcoming, easygoing and patient. They gave helpful feedback after every wave and dropped some great insights in between, which is why we all managed to stand up on the board fairly quickly…some of us more quickly than others, but quick enough to get us hooked 😉. Every session taught us something new — not just about surfing, sometimes about life too, it seemed — and we enjoyed every one of them, nosedives included. We did 4 lessons with Douarte and Pedro and we would definitely come back. We loved the teams enthusiasm and energy. Pedro is very knowledgeable and calm and he is exactly the type of surf teacher we were looking for while Douarte was very energetic and you could see that surf is his passion. Pedro und sein junger Mitarbeiter Duarte leben das, was sie tun, und geben ihre Freude am Surfen an ihre Schüler weiter. Es war eine so tolle Woche, in der ich viel gelernt habe und auch morgens um 07:00 Uhr gut gelaunt am Treffpunkt war. Pedro bringt einem das Surfen auf ganz besondere Weise bei. Ich bin selbst Lehrerin, und er sagte zu mir: „Henni, die Kinder können doch auch nicht sofort lesen, sondern du zeigst es ihnen Schritt für Schritt. So ist es auch beim Surfen.“ Diese und viele weitere Vergleiche haben mir das Surfen verständlicher gemacht. Vor jedem Training wird gemeinsam aufgewärmt und gedehnt. Nach ein paar Trockenübungen geht es dann ins Wasser, und hier geben die Surflehrer alles, damit man nach und nach Erfolgserlebnisse sammeln kann. Ich fand es so besonders, dass die beiden sich immer mit ihren Schülern mitgefreut haben – das ist etwas Besonderes. Die Gruppengröße betrug nie mehr als 6 Personen. Als einmal am Strand eine riesige Gruppe neben uns war und ich sagte: „Das sind aber viele“, meinte Durate: „Ja, die machen das zur Unterhaltung, wir sind eine richtige Surfschule.“ Danke an das „The Far End Surfhouse“ dass ihr diese tolle Zusammenarbeit mit dem, wie ihr sagt, „besten Lehrer“ habt. Ich komme wieder und bin so dankbar für die 6 Surfkurse, die ich letzte Woche hier hatte 🏄🏾‍♀️☀️🌊 Pedro and his young colleague Duarte are truly passionate about what they do and pass on their love of surfing to their students. It was such a great week—I learned a lot and even showed up at the meeting spot in a good mood at 7:00 a.m. Pedro teaches surfing in a very special way. I’m a teacher myself, and he said to me: “Henni, kids can’t read right away either—you show them step by step. It’s the same with surfing.” This and many other comparisons helped me understand surfing better. Before every session, we warm up and stretch together. After a few dry runs, we head into the water, and there the surf instructors give it their all so that you can gradually experience a sense of accomplishment. I thought it was so special that the two of them always shared in their students’ joy—that’s something special. The group size was never more than 6 people. Once, when there was a huge group next to us on the beach and I said, “That’s a lot of people,” Durate replied, “Yeah, they’re just doing it for fun; we’re a real surf school.” Thanks to „The Far End Surfhouse“for this great partnership with, as you say, “the best instructor.” I’ll be back, and I’m so grateful for the six surf lessons I took here last week 🏄🏾‍♀️☀️🌊

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Pedro’s Surf Academy! Pedro and Duarte are not only outstanding surf instructors but also genuinely kind, warm-hearted people. From the very first moment, my daughter and I felt incredibly welcome and comfortable – almost as if we were spending time with friends, even though we had just met. The equipment is first-class. The wetsuits are modern, in excellent condition, and perfect for the cool Atlantic water. The surfboards are top quality as well, making the whole experience even better. You can really feel how passionate Pedro and Duarte are about surfing and how much they enjoy sharing that passion with others. They create a relaxed, fun, and encouraging atmosphere that makes learning easy and enjoyable. We recommend Pedro’s Surf Academy with all our hearts. Pedro and his team are outstanding, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at this surf school and every detail from the first greeting to throughout the class until the end ran like clockwork. Pedro puts in a shift to ensure every customer leaves buzzing and they are safe and comfortable within the classes. Thank you Pedro, Viri, Duarte, Miguel and Tomas! See you soon
